Position Summary The Senior Estimator is a critical member of the preconstruction team responsible for developing accurate, competitive, and comprehensive cost estimates for complex heavy civil projects. This role focuses on large-scale infrastructure including site development, roadway construction, and underground utilities, as well as industrial and mission-critical (data center) projects. The Senior Estimator collaborates closely with operations, project management, and business development to support pursuits from early conceptual budgeting through final bid submission. Key Responsibilities Estimating & Preconstruction Execution- Prepare detailed cost estimates for heavy civil scopes including mass grading, sitework, underground utilities, concrete, and paving.
- Perform conceptual, design development, and final bid estimates.
- Coordinate with operations to validate means, methods, and production rates. Sitework, Utilities & Civil Infrastructure
- Develop estimates for large-scale site development including excavation, embankment, and grading.
- Prepare estimates for private roadway and paving infrastructure.
- Estimate underground utility systems including water, sewer, storm drainage, and duct banks. Industrial & Mission Critical Projects
- Support industrial and mission-critical (data center) civil scopes.
- Incorporate accelerated schedules, utility redundancy, and phased turnover requirements. Cost Analysis & Risk Evaluation
- Perform quantity takeoffs and develop production-driven estimates.
- Identify risks related to subsurface conditions, materials, labor, and site constraints. Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- 10+ years of heavy civil estimating experience.
- Proven experience in sitework, utilities, and civil infrastructure.
