Job Description

The Estimator is responsible for developing accurate, detailed, and competitive cost estimates for commercial metal awning projects. This role analyzes architectural drawings, specifications, and bid documents to determine material, labor, and production costs. The Estimator partners closely with sales, engineering, and production teams to support pricing accuracy and successful project execution. This position requires strong attention to detail, technical knowledge, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Review architectural drawings, blueprints, and project specifications to prepare cost estimates. Perform material take-offs and labor calculations based on project scope. Communicate regularly with suppliers to obtain current pricing and lead times. Prepare detailed cost summaries including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs. Utilize estimating software, spreadsheets, and related tools to develop accurate proposals. Develop and submit competitive bids within required timelines. Partner with sales to support customer inquiries, quoting, and bid package preparation. Analyze costs to ensure alignment with company pricing strategies and profitability targets. Identify opportunities for cost savings in materials and production processes. Maintain organized records of estimates, proposals, and bid submissions. Analyze bid results (awarded/lost) to improve estimating accuracy and strategy. Prepare cost analysis reports and support budgeting and forecasting activities. Maintain effective communication and collaboration with internal teams. High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or related field preferred. Minimum of 3 years of estimating experience, preferably in construction, metal fabrication, or architectural products. Strong knowledge of commercial construction processes and blueprint interpretation. Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Quick Bid, or similar). Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook. Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and negotiation skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams. Join our team and help bring commercial spaces to life!
