Senior Civil Estimator

Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Civil Estimator to join our dynamic construction team. Duties Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for civil construction projects, including earthwork, grading, drainage, sanitary sewer, and water. Analyze project plans, specifications, and contract documents to determine scope of work and identify potential risks or challenges. Utilize estimating software such as B2W and Bluebeam to develop comprehensive bids that reflect current market conditions and material costs. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to gather pricing data and negotiate favorable terms. Conduct site visits to assess existing conditions, verify quantities, and gather additional information necessary for precise estimating. Implement cost control measures throughout the project lifecycle to ensure budgets are maintained without compromising quality or safety. Review contracts and scope of work documents to ensure clarity and alignment with project objectives; assist in contract negotiations when needed. Support project management teams by providing detailed estimates that inform scheduling, resource allocation, and procurement strategies. Experience Proven experience in construction estimating within heavy civil or infrastructure projects is essential. Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry standards related to civil projects. Familiarity with estimating tools such as B2W, Bluebeam, and other industry-specific software is highly preferred. Demonstrated ability to perform quantity take-offs accurately from complex drawings and specifications. Excellent negotiation skills with a track record of securing competitive pricing while maintaining quality standards. Hands-on construction site experience is a plus, providing practical insight into project execution challenges. Solid understanding of construction management principles, contracts, cost control practices, and project scheduling techniques.
