In this vital role, you will be responsible for designing comprehensive fire alarm systems and accurately estimating project costs to ensure successful project execution. Your expertise will help us deliver reliable, code-compliant fire alarm solutions that prioritize safety and efficiency. This position offers an exciting opportunity to collaborate with project managers, clients, and construction teams to develop precise designs and competitive bids that meet both technical standards and client expectations. Responsibilities Develop detailed fire alarm system designs utilizing electrical schematics, construction drawings, and specifications, ensuring compliance with NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code) and other relevant electrical building codes. Review construction drawings thoroughly to identify system requirements, potential conflicts, and opportunities for cost optimization. Prepare accurate estimates by analyzing material costs, labor, equipment, and subcontractor quotes. Utilize AutoCAD and Microsoft Office suite to complete design plans clearly with team members and clients. Collaborate closely with Fire Alarm Section management to ensure design intent is maintained during installation and that projects stay within budget. Conduct electrical blueprint reading and interpretation to ensure designs align with client specifications and industry standards. Communicate effectively with clients to clarify project scope, answer technical questions, and provide updates on design progress or estimate revisions. Qualifications NICET Fire Alarm Systems Level 3 or higher is required Proven experience in fire alarm estimating, and fire alarm system design. Strong knowledge of NFPA, IBC, and local codes for fire alarm systems. Skilled in reading electrical schematics, blueprints, and construction drawings with attention to detail. Experience in electrical blueprint reading, system design, cost management, and material cost estimating. Excellent negotiation skills to manage contracts effectively. Strong understanding of fire alarm systems installation processes on construction sites. Effective communication skills for client interaction and team collaboration. Construction site experience or construction management background is highly desirable.
