Job Description

M.C. Dean is seeking a Senior Electrical Estimator to support operations in Suwanee, GA. The Sr. Electrical Estimator will support electrical construction projects from bid and proposal stages through completion, ensuring all work meets project specifications, quality standards, and budget requirements.
Clearance Requirements:
United States citizenship is required as well as the ability to obtain and maintain a government clearance. Responsibilities Develop budgets and cost codes; assist with technical proposal preparation, including scope of work, management plans, safety, quality control, and commissioning details. Gather data and support bid proposal estimates and design/build submissions. Develop and present clear and detailed project scopes; meet with customers to review proposals. Manage day‑to‑day operations for assigned projects or project sections. Create project schedules using the Critical Path Method (CPM); assign labor and costs for forecasting. Review plans and specifications to determine required materials, equipment, and compliance needs. Perform quantity take‑offs and price change orders. Maintain accurate pricing and cost fundamentals using current supplier and contractor data. Identify value‑added solutions and cost‑saving opportunities. Establish labor and productivity rates. Identify, price, track, and manage change orders. Manage coordination and detailing logs, schedules, design development logs, and criteria compliance matrices. Assist with field inspections and productivity tracking. Qualifications Master's degree: 3+ years of experience Bachelor's in
Electrical, Civil, Architectural Engineering, or Construction Management:
5+ years Associate degree (related field): 8+ years High School diploma or
GED:
10+ years Requirements Proficiency in MS Office Suite and AutoCAD; experience with estimating, project management, and scheduling software. Ability to read and interpret blueprints. Knowledge of design principles, codes, and safety standards. Familiarity with electrical equipment, materials, and specifications. Experience with contract documents (drawings, subcontracts, addenda, specifications, change orders). Strong technical writing abilities. 2+ years' experience in the communications field; additional electrical experience preferred. Desired Skills Local candidates or current M.C. Dean employees preferred. Experience with MS Project, P6, and Accubid. LEED certification (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design). DBIA certification (Design‑Build Institute of America). Journeyman Electrician License, FE, or
EIT. M.C.
