The company delivers premier commercial HVAC and plumbing solutions, specializing in new construction, renovations, and complex design-build projects. Role Overview This is a core technical position focused on estimating Commercial HVAC New Construction, Renovation installations, and Design-Build projects ranging from $1 Million to $10 Million. Working fully on-site in the Valdosta & Nashville, GA region, you will take ownership of blueprint analysis, digital takeoffs, and proposal management for projects including hotels, K-12 schools, higher learning facilities, and other commercial buildings.
Key Responsibilities Commercial Project Estimation:
Lead estimation for commercial new construction, design-builds, and major renovation projects.
System Takeoffs:
Perform complete material and labor takeoffs for HVAC systems, ductwork, sheet metal, hydronic piping, and commercial plumbing to pinpoint material quantities, labor hours, and baseline costs.
Proposal Management:
Assemble, review, and submit accurate, comprehensive project proposals and pre-bid estimates directly to commercial clients.
Supplier & Subcontractor Evaluation:
Review preliminary quotes and execute competitive trade bid comparisons to optimize commercial project numbers.
Digital Estimation Tools:
Utilize electronic takeoff systems and project tracking platforms (such as AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Builder Trend, etc.) for high-precision calculations.
Required Qualifications Core Estimation Experience:
Minimum of 5+ years of dedicated, proven experience in commercial HVAC project estimation.
Technical Software Proficiency:
Excellent hands-on knowledge and command of Electronic Takeoff Systems (AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Builder Trend, or similar applications).
Analytical & Mathematical Precision:
Strong capability to perform detailed material/labor takeoffs and apply mathematical concepts/conversions to analyze blueprints accurately.
Operational Requirements:
Must possess excellent critical thinking, organization, and written/verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently with high attention to detail.
Compliance:
Valid driver's license with an insurable driving record. Candidates must successfully pass a background check and drug screen upon a conditional offer of employment. Preferred Qualifications A formal degree in Mechanical Engineering is highly desired. Deep expertise in estimating commercial ductwork, sheet metal, and complex hydronic piping systems.
