Responsibilities Our client is seeking a motivated Junior Estimator to join its Preconstruction team in Watkinsville, GA, reporting to the VP of Preconstruction. This is an entry-level opportunity with strong potential for career growth. You'll support the estimating team on day-to-day takeoffs, basic estimates, and project support tasks — building a foundation of skills under experienced leadership as the industrial division expands into larger and more complex work. Perform quantity takeoffs from plans and drawings using estimating software and digital tools Assist with the preparation of detailed cost estimates for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontracted scopes Support the senior estimating team with bid package organization, subcontractor outreach, and bid tabulation Export and format schedule data as needed to support preconstruction deliverables Organize and maintain project documentation, estimate files, and bid records in a structured manner Assist with value engineering research, material pricing lookups, and vendor/supplier communication Learn to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and geotechnical reports Contribute to proposal support, including formatting and document assembly Participate in team meetings, bid reviews, and internal estimate walkthroughs to develop estimating knowledge Take on increasing levels of estimate responsibility over time as skills and project knowledge grow

Experience 0-3 years of experience in construction estimating, project engineering, or a related role Basic understanding of construction methods, materials, and project delivery Ability to read and begin interpreting construction drawings and specifications Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with estimating software a plus Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy Eager to learn, willing to take direction, and comfortable asking questions Team player with a positive attitude and willingness to handle both routine and challenging tasks Commitment to working in-office as part of a collaborative team environment Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent hands-on experience will be considered
Preferred Qualifications:
Internship or co-op experience with a general contractor, specialty contractor, or engineering firm Exposure to heavy civil, industrial, or infrastructure project types Familiarity with takeoff platforms such as Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff, or similar Working knowledge of project scheduling concepts
