Job Description
Senior Estimator - Structural Steel / Fabrication A long-established leader in the steel fabrication and metals industry is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join its team. This organization has built its reputation on quality, integrity, innovation, and delivering custom steel solutions for industries including construction, transportation, energy, heavy equipment, agriculture, government, and industrial manufacturing. Responsibilities Prepare accurate estimates for structural steel and fabricated metal projects. Review drawings, specifications, bid documents, and project requirements. Develop material, labor, equipment, subcontractor, and production cost estimates. Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing. Identify project risks, scope gaps, and cost-saving opportunities. Work closely with sales, engineering, purchasing, production, and project management. Manage multiple estimates and bid deadlines simultaneously. Support project handoff from estimating into production and project management. Qualifications Strong estimating experience within structural steel, steel fabrication, miscellaneous metals, or heavy industrial manufacturing . Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications. Strong understanding of fabrication processes, materials, labor requirements, and project costs. Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Experience managing complex bids and multiple deadlines. Estimating software and ERP/MRP experience is preferred. Why Work Here?
