Job Description
Description This estimator will be responsible for leading construction design-build efforts and help drive Procurement and Construction (EPC) estimates for projects in the transmission and distribution sector. Working collaboratively with a team of estimators, this person will also assist with estimate preparation, help develop conceptual estimates and lead procurement efforts for assigned projects. This position plays a key role in assisting clients and internal stakeholders to make fact-based decisions by presenting accurate, credible estimates in a professional manner that minimizes risk to the company. What You Will Do Lead estimating strategy and implementation efforts. Review and approve project summary schedules for validity. Manage workload scheduling to ensure timely completion of deliverables. Collaborate with the Project Team on the risk review process. Responsible for compliance with estimating methodology insuring quality estimates are produced. Lead project team review for estimating quantities and scope of project. Responsible for reviewing and approving quotes on bonds and insurance. Review and approve small and disadvantaged business solicitation and evaluations. Lead subcontractor solicitation and pre-qualification reviews. Responsible for reviewing and approving specialty and standard equipment pricing. Lead procurement efforts for standard equipment through project completion on assigned projects. Review and verify subcontractor bid packages before being transmitted for quotes. Present the estimate to internal and external clients. Responsible for the review of final estimate before management review and proposal presentation. Lead estimating teams for completion of pre-construction services. Responsible for cost history, data base management and estimating process. Approve price general conditions, indirect costs and review as provided by project management team. Make final recommendations as to fee, contingency and escalation. Provide man hour quotes for required estimating effort. Develop strategy on contract partnering agreements. Prepare and present estimating data for risk review process. Verify and approve estimates for joint venture reviews. Review commercial terms and conditions and address risk issues. Review and validate value engineering items, alternates and options. Responsible for the accuracy and validity of estimate clarifications and assumptions. Review RFP and proposal documents for gaps and overlaps in scope of work. Train and mentor staff. OSHA 10-hour certification. Attend project site walkdowns, pre-construction meetings, supplier FATs as required. 10-20% travel. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field, and 3 years of direct project estimating experience required. Applicable experience may be substituted for the degree requirement. Ability to work independently or in groups, think creatively and analytically, and make quick and sound decisions. Demonstrated attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficient with Microsoft Office. OSHA 10-hour certification required. Familiar with InEight estimating software, preferred Compensation $110,000.00-155,000.00 Yearly The expected compensation range for this position is displayed in compliance with all local/state regulations. The expected compensation range for this position is based on a number of factors, including but not limited to: individual education, qualifications, prior work experience and work location. The total annual compensation package will consist of a base salary and eligibility to participate in our discretionary year-end incentive bonus program.
