Structural Steel and Misc. Metals Estimator K&K Iron Works La Grange, IL Job Details Full-time $30 - $45 an hour 21 hours ago Benefits 401(k) matching Full Job Description Summary The Estimator quotes structural steel, miscellaneous steel, engineering, erection and installation processes and services. Through hands-on experience envisions difficult installation and fabrication scenarios and knows not everything quoted can be determined by a formula. Principle Duties and Responsibilities Responsible for accurate material quantity take-off. Quantifies number of shop and detailing hours to fabricate structural steel and miscellaneous metals. Determines installation schemes to establish crew sizes and duration. Evaluates all contract documents including all drawings, specifications, general conditions and if necessary the project site. Determines scope of work for our trade and determines areas to qualify bids. Develops comprehensive, detailed proposal for the project estimated. Post bid negotiations with client and K&K Sales staff to determine final scopes of work and assigns values to items that may be revised or deleted. Post bid "value engineering" to help negotiate final contract with K&K Sales staff and client. Assists Project Management staff with pricing issues on major project revisions. Maintain up to date pricing records with current material costs. Preferred Experience and Skills College Degree or Equivalent Experience Preferred. Good language skills, both written and oral. Working knowledge of MS Word and Excel. This job description is not all inclusive and may include other duties as assigned.
