Job Description
Seeking:
Manufacturing Estimator for an established and growing industrial manufacturing organization in Illinois. This is an excellent opportunity for a manufacturing professional with experience in CNC machining, manufacturing engineering, process engineering, production planning, or related areas who has exposure to quoting, estimating, or manufacturing cost analysis. The company values manufacturing experience and technical aptitude over direct estimating experience and is willing to train the right individual.Responsibilities:
- Review customer RFQs, drawings, specifications, and technical requirements to determine manufacturing processes, labor, materials, tooling, and outside services required.
- Develop manufacturing routings and prepare accurate, competitive cost estimates and quotations.
- Evaluate machining, material, tooling, labor, machine, and outside-processing costs.
- Review parts for manufacturability and identify potential production challenges or opportunities to improve manufacturing methods and control costs.
- Work closely with Sales, Engineering, and Production to develop quotes and provide technical information related to manufacturing capabilities, cost, and lead time.
- Utilize historical manufacturing information and production data to improve estimating accuracy.
- Support custom and engineered manufacturing projects from RFQ through production.
Manufacturing Estimator Skills:
- 2+ years of manufacturing experience.
- Experience or exposure to quoting, estimating, or manufacturing cost analysis preferred.
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
- Strong understanding of machining and manufacturing processes.
- Familiarity with GD&T and precision manufacturing is a plus.
- Strong analytical, mathematical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and technical aptitude.
- Willingness and ability to learn new manufacturing processes and estimating methods.
