Full Job Description Purpose of Position:
An Estimator / Project Manager plays a key role in the overall operations of E & B Paving. This person is a customer service representative who has internal and external customers. The external customers are new and existing clients. Internal customers are his/her fellow co-workers and teammates. It is their responsibility to be actively involved in projects, from bidding to collection. They must understand all aspects of the project and offer assistance to the field when needed. Communication amongst all parties is vital to success. Communication includes verbal and non-verbal. Non-verbal communication includes paperwork given to the field. The estimator project manager must learn to prioritize their tasks and utilize their time appropriately.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintains existing business relationships and creates new opportunities Responsible for takeoffs, contacting subcontractors, contacting suppliers, estimating, and project management. Set up and monitor job production plans utilizing logistics software Works closely with field superintendents Assists contract administrator with billing and receivables
Requirements:
A minimum of 2 yrs. experience estimating and managing INDOT, municipal and commercial projects or equivalent experience is preferred. Must have extensive knowledge of INDOT specifications, Microsoft Excel, Word, and Project as well as digitizing takeoff software Must be a self starter with the ability to work independently Must possess strong organizational and time management skills Must have excellent communication skills, both written & verbal
Education:
Bachelor's degree in a construction related field or equivalent related experience. Professional Engineers with construction experience preferred.
Compensation:
Dependent on experience and qualifications.
