Job Description:
The Estimator accurately estimates the cost, resources, and labor needed to complete projects within the assigned Business Unit.
Essential Functions Strategic Bid Management:
Manage the bid calendar and internal reviews to ensure all deadlines are met. Produce well-organized, detailed proposals that accurately reflect the project scope and value proposition.
Technical Estimating & Data Analysis:
Perform precise project takeoffs using BlueBeam and historical data. Analyze material pricing and equipment utilization to develop competitive bids that ensure project accuracy.
Stakeholder Collaboration & Handoff:
Communicate effectively with field operations and customers to ensure transparency. Facilitate seamless project handoffs to Project Managers in accordance with established company SOPs.
Client Relations & Process Optimization:
Establish strong, positive relationships with clients to foster repeat business. Continuously identify and implement best practices to improve the estimating team's efficiency and results.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Professional Integrity & Compliance:
Maintain high standards of confidentiality and professionalism in strict accordance with M&H core policies and values.
Analytical Problem-Solving:
Leverage strong mathematical and organizational skills to manage complex data, solve problems, and consistently meet project deadlines.
Technical Software Proficiency:
Utilize platforms like HCSS and Bluebeam to manage project data and streamline the estimating process across internal and external systems.
Blueprint & Technical Communication:
Interpret complex blueprints and project specifications accurately while communicating technical details clearly to all stakeholders. Experience & Education Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or other related field preferred, 1-2 years of experience in lieu of a degree applicable. 2 years of experience estimating in a commercial construction capacity is preferred but is not required Career Path & Advancement We are dedicated to building careers, not just projects. Ability to regularly attend work in an office environment Ability to spend prolonged periods of time sitting at a desk and working on a computer Ability to safely navigate active job sites around heavy equipment and in varying weather conditions Other Requirements Full-time, In-person hours required; most work will be performed on weekdays during normal business hours
