The ideal candidate will lead the bidding and preconstruction process from start to finish while helping ensure projects are competitively priced, thoroughly scoped, and successfully awarded.

Responsibilities:

Reviewing plans, specifications, addendums, and bid documents. Managing and overseeing the estimating department and bidding process. Soliciting and distributing bids to subcontractors and suppliers through multiple bidding platforms, phone calls, and email. Preparing detailed and accurate project estimates and proposals. Performing and overseeing quantity takeoffs and scope reviews. Reviewing subcontractor and vendor proposals for completeness and accuracy. Following up and maintaining communication with subcontractors and suppliers throughout the bidding process. Coordinating RFIs, addendums, and bid clarifications. Maintaining estimating databases, subcontractor relationships, and project records. Assisting with budgeting, value engineering, and preconstruction services. Working closely with project managers during project turnover and handoff. Mentoring and assisting junior estimating staff as needed. Ensuring deadlines are met while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Qualifications:

Minimum 5+ years of commercial construction estimating experience preferred. Strong knowledge of commercial general contracting and subcontracting practices. Must have excellent organizational and communication skills. Must be a problem solver and able to work in a fast-paced environment. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications. Experience with conceptual estimating, hard bids, negotiated work, and budgeting preferred. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to maintain subcontractor/vendor relationships. Attention to detail is a must. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, and PlanSwift.
