Construction Estimator

Job Overview JT Construction is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Estimator to join our dynamic team. JT Construction is a growing company with many opportunities to expand and develop a person's career. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the planning and execution of construction projects by providing accurate cost estimates of self-performed work, as well as collaborating with subcontractors to provide complete project estimates for our clients. This position requires a strong understanding of construction processes, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders. Responsibilities Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects by analyzing blueprints, specifications, and other documentation. Collaborate with project managers and clients to understand project requirements and scope. Conduct site visits to assess conditions and gather necessary information for accurate estimating. Utilize estimating software to streamline the estimation process. Assist with monitoring project budgets and costs throughout the lifecycle of the project to ensure adherence to financial goals. Negotiate contracts with subcontractors and suppliers to secure favorable terms. Maintain organized records of estimates, contracts, and correspondence related to projects. Skills Strong knowledge of construction estimating principles and practices. Familiarity with construction site operations and safety protocols. Experience with estimating software is highly desirable. Excellent negotiation skills to effectively manage contracts with vendors and subcontractors. Ability to analyze complex data sets and make informed decisions based on findings. Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, for collaboration with team members and clients.
