Estimator - Commercial Construction An award-winning commercial General Contractor is seeking an Estimator to be part of their dynamic team. The ideal candidate is innovative, highly motivated, and forward-thinking and wants to be part of the greater vision as the company continues to grow.
Job Description:
Seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Construction Estimator to join a growing team. The Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for a variety of construction projects, analyzing blueprints and specifications, and collaborating with architects, contractors, and project managers. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and market pricing to help ensure project profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
Review project plans, blueprints, and specifications to determine the scope of work and materials required. Prepare detailed cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and other project expenses. Analyze and compile data on construction costs to develop accurate project budgets. Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and contractors to gather the necessary information for estimating. Assist in value engineering to optimize project costs while maintaining high quality and safety standards. Prepare bid packages and participate in negotiations with suppliers and subcontractors. Monitor and update cost estimates as project requirements change or new information becomes available. Maintain a database of project costs, historical data, and pricing information for future reference. Stay up-to-date with industry trends, new technologies, and materials.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Construction Estimator or in a similar role. Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (preferred). Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, and methods. Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., ProEst, Bluebeam, PlanSwift) and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word). Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and contracts. Strong communication and negotiation skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
