Job Description

Description:
As an Estimator, you will play a key role in providing accurate and detailed cost estimates for various stages of manufacturing of parts. You will collaborate closely with engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders to develop cost estimates that align with project requirements and budget constraints. Your analytical skills and industry knowledge will be essential in ensuring the financial viability and success of our aerospace endeavor.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Function as liaison between internal and external customers, ensuring clear communication and alignment on project requirements. Utilize technical drawings and specifications provided in Requests for Quotation (RFQ) to determine labor, material, and process hours for parts, assemblies, and tooling. Produce the most accurate estimation of cost possible from RFQ receipt through final submission to sales team, taking into account all relevant factors and variables Collaborate with Procurement department to obtain quotes from outside suppliers for parts, materials, hardware and outside processing Maintain a comprehensive historical cost database to ensure the greatest accuracy for future bids and estimates Collaborate with internal subject matter experts to gather input on jobs being estimate Evaluate and document risks associated with an RFQ or quotation, including internal capability, delivery timelines, material availability, and outside processing requirements. Plan, budget, oversee, and document all aspects of the specific project, ensuring adherence to quality standards, timelines, and budgetary constraints. Obtain blueprints and order support materials from suppliers and engineers as needed Provide oversight, scope, and direction of each project to ensure it remains on schedules in accordance with project requirements Responsible for tracking KPI's such as win/loss percentage, budget vs. actual, etc
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Finance or related field or equivalent work experience. Proven experience in aerospace estimating or cost engineering, preferably in the aerospace industry. Strong understating of CNC Quoting & Estimating experience for a CNC Machine and wire shops. Proficiency in cost estimation methodologies, tools and ERP system (JobBoss, Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc) Ability to work in a fast-paced environment; managing multiple priorities; strong time management to meet deadlines. Familiarity with regulatory requirements and industry standards applicable to aerospace projects is a plus Effective verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams (internal and external customers, suppliers, etc) Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to details Experience utilizing Catia to interrogate models and assemblies Must be able to interpret engineering/tool designs and understand the use/application of learning curves to obtain labor hours for quantity quoted.
