Job Description
Small Commercial Construction Company is seeking a Jr Commercial Construction Estimator to add to our team. This position will be an integral part of the process to create accurate and competitive estimates and bids for clients. Our company has a relaxed atmosphere relying on our employees to be self-motivated and take ownership with what they are tasked. However, other team members are there to help when needed. We are an EEO employer and look forward to hearing from you. Desired Skills and Experience Estimator responsibilities:
- Prepare competitive estimates
- Effectively manage daily work output, meet bid deadlines, and work in a fast-paced environment
- Represent the company at pre-bid conferences and job walks, ask pertinent questions, and relay site visit information to other team members and subcontractors as required
- Analyze supplier and subcontractor estimates for scope accuracy and completeness
- Perform accurate quantity take-offs
- Compile and update historical cost data for use in conceptual or rough order of magnitude estimates.
- Provide cost/ benefit analysis of building systems and provide value engineering input during the estimating process.
Estimator Qualifications:
- Knowledge of project documents, plans, and other technical documents
- 1+ years of experience in construction estimating, preferably in commercial construction
- Design-Build experience a plus
- Working knowledge of estimating technology, i.e. Bluebeam, Kubla Cubed, etc.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office
- Strong time management and organizational skills with an extreme attention to details
- Self-starter, ability to prioritize and multi-task
