Assistant Estimator

Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Estimator to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will support the estimating department by preparing accurate cost estimates, analyzing project specifications, and assisting in bid proposals. Your proactive approach and keen eye for detail will contribute to winning projects and maintaining cost control throughout the construction process. Responsibilities Assist in preparing detailed construction cost estimates by analyzing project plans, specifications, and bid documents. Collaborate with project managers, subcontractors, and suppliers to gather pricing information and negotiate competitive rates. Support the review of contracts, scope of work, and project schedules to ensure accurate pricing and resource allocation. Contribute to cost control efforts by monitoring project budgets, tracking changes, and updating estimates accordingly. Utilize construction estimating software to compile data, generate reports, and assist in bid submissions. Maintain organized records of all estimating documents, correspondence, plans, and revisions for transparency and future reference. Make material cut list accurately and cost effective Order materials in a timely fashion and collaborate with shop for stock materials and deliveries Qualifications Prior experience or familiarity with construction estimating processes is preferred but not required; a strong willingness to learn is essential. Proficiency in Adobe for markup and document management. Solid understanding of construction terminology, contracts, project management principles, and cost control strategies. Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to communicate effectively with vendors, subcontractors, and team members. Knowledge of construction site operations and construction management practices enhances your ability to produce accurate estimates. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while demonstrating initiative and problem-solving skills.
