Construction Estimator Delta Specialty Contractors, LLC 203 Mane St, West Monroe, LA 71292 From $50,000 a year - Full-time From $50,000 a year - Full-time Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented Construction Estimator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for construction projects by analyzing plans, specifications, and other project documents. The ideal candidate will collaborate with project managers, subcontractors, and suppliers to develop comprehensive bids, ensuring all costs related to materials, labor, and equipment are accounted for. This position requires strong analytical skills, industry knowledge, and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. The Construction Estimator plays a critical role in supporting successful project planning and company growth. Responsibilities Review project plans, specifications, and bid documents to understand project scope and requirements Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractors Perform quantity takeoffs and analyze project risks and opportunities Solicit and evaluate bids from subcontractors and suppliers Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders during the estimating process Prepare and submit competitive bid proposals within deadlines Maintain and update cost databases, pricing, and historical data Identify cost-saving opportunities and value engineering options Monitor market trends, material costs, and labor rates to ensure accurate estimates Assist in project handoff to operations team upon award of contract Review and revise estimates based on addenda or scope changes Skills Strong analytical and mathematical skills Attention to detail and high level of accuracy Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry standards Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, PlanSwift, Procore, or similar) Excellent communication and negotiation skills Time management and ability to meet tight deadlines Problem-solving and critical thinking abilities Strong organizational and multitasking skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel) Understanding of cost control and budgeting principles
