Job Description
Structural Steel Erection Estimator Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Structural Steel Erection Estimator with a minimum of 3 years of estimating experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of structural steel erection, project plans, labor requirements, subcontractor pricing, and field installation. Primary Responsibilities Review project plans, specifications, and related documents to develop a thorough understanding of project scope and requirements. Prepare detailed cost estimates for steel erection labor, equipment, subcontractors, and related project costs . Develop and manage bids, ensuring all cost elements are included and accurately represented. Solicit and analyze quotes from suppliers, equipment providers, and subcontractors. Perform quantity takeoffs and material breakdowns using on-screen takeoff software and other estimating tools. Analyze bid data to develop cost forecasts, competitive pricing, and bid strategies. Present estimates, proposals, and supporting documentation to management and stakeholders. Build and maintain relationships with vendors, subcontractors, and clients to support competitive pricing. Collaborate with project management and operations teams to transition awarded projects from estimating to execution. Assist in developing and improving estimating templates, tools, and processes. Ideal Candidate 3+ years of structural steel erection estimating experience Strong understanding of structural steel erection methods, labor requirements, equipment, and project sequencing Ability to read and interpret structural drawings, architectural plans, and project specifications Experience performing detailed quantity takeoffs and developing labor and equipment costs Strong understanding of crane, rigging, access equipment, and field erection requirements Proficiency with on-screen takeoff and estimating software Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills Ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines simultaneously Detail-oriented with a strong understanding of project costs and profitability Compensation & Benefits Competitive salary based on experience Performance-based bonus opportunities Comprehensive benefits package Paid Time Off (PTO) Opportunities for career growth and advancement Send resume to mitchell.guerrieri@gogpac.com for more information
