Seeking an experienced HVAC Estimator with 5-10+ years of estimating experience to join our team. This role will be based primarily out of our Canton, MA headquarters and will play a key role in estimating HVAC projects across Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Southern Coastal Maine. Position Overview We are seeking an experienced HVAC Estimator with 5-10+ years of estimating experience to join our team. This role will be based primarily out of our Canton, MA headquarters and will play a key role in estimating HVAC projects across Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Southern Coastal Maine. In addition to working closely with our Canton-based estimating and operations teams, this position will regularly support estimating efforts at our office in Dover, NH, typically one day per week, with the potential to spend two days per week there depending on workload and project needs. Flexibility in work location and schedule is built into this role to encourage strong regional candidates from New Hampshire and Southern Coastal Maine. Key Responsibilities Prepare detailed and accurate HVAC estimates for commercial and industrial projects Review project drawings, specifications, and bid documents to develop complete scopes of work Perform quantity take-offs and pricing for HVAC systems, equipment, and associated materials Solicit, review, and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotes Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and operations teams during preconstruction Support estimating efforts for projects located in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Southern Coastal Maine Spend approximately one day per week (occasionally two) at the Mechanical office assisting with regional estimating needs Participate in bid reviews, scope clarifications, and value engineering discussions Assist with budget development, conceptual estimates, and design-build pricing when required Maintain organized estimating files and documentation for awarded and non-awarded projects Stay current on market conditions, labor rates, material pricing, and industry trends
Qualifications:
5-10+ years of HVAC estimating experience with a mechanical contractor Strong understanding of HVAC systems, equipment, and installation methods Experience estimating commercial and/or industrial mechanical projects Proficiency with estimating software and take-off tools Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously Excellent communication and collaboration skills Willingness and ability to travel regularly to the other office in Dover, New Hampshire Experience estimating projects across multiple states or regions Familiarity with New England market conditions and pricing Background in design-build or negotiated work Experience working closely with operations and field teams during preconstruction Experience with QuoteSoft estimating program
