Job Description

Description Job Summary:
You will be responsible for preparing accurate, detailed cost estimates for mechanical components and systems in construction projects. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical trades and construction processes, along with excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. The ideal candidate will be able to manage multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Job Duties:
Review and evaluate requests for estimates and project quotations, as needed. Prepare the weekly bid calendar and ensure estimates are completed on time. Prepare and review estimates and revisions for completeness and accuracy. Create job folders. Perform takeoffs from construction documents. Review construction documents to understand the scope of work for bidding. Obtain material pricing and subcontractor bids. Develop estimates when predetermined standards are not available. Notify the immediate supervisor of any inaccuracies or omissions in quoted items or the estimating database. Develop and maintain cost data. Maintain estimating procedures and guidelines. Develop and maintain resource information for products, vendors, and subcontractors. Attend branch meetings.
Requirements Qualifications:
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Bluebeam construction software is a plus. Strong customer service and communication skills. Reliable attendance and punctuality to support timely, high-quality customer responsiveness. Ability to perform work accurately, with urgency, integrity, and strong attention to detail. HVAC experience preferred. Associate's or bachelor's degree preferred; technical certifications and relevant work experience will also be considered. 3-5 years of experience in mechanical estimating. Working knowledge of mechanical drawings, schedules, details, and specifications. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
