Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic construction team as an Assistant Estimator and become a vital part of delivering high-quality Residential and commercial projects. In this energetic role, you will support the estimating department by preparing detailed Project takeoffs, reviewing Construction Documents, and assisting in Proposal developing. This position offers a fantastic opportunity to develop your skills in construction estimating, project management, and cost control within a collaborative and growth-oriented environment. Your proactive approach and attention to detail will help ensure accurate bids and successful project execution from start to finish. Responsibilities Assist in reviewing construction drawings and technical documents to interpret project scope and material requirements. Support the preparation of detailed estimates by gathering data on material costs, labor, equipment, and subcontractor quotes using estimating software such as StackCT and similar tools. Utilize construction management software and spreadsheets to compile cost data, track changes, and manage project budgets effectively. Collaborate with suppliers, subcontractors, and clients through negotiation to secure competitive pricing and favorable contract terms. Contribute to cost management efforts by monitoring project expenses, identifying potential overruns, and recommending cost-saving measures. Assist in managing projects by updating bid proposals, reviewing contracts, and supporting project management activities related to estimation. Participate in Construction document reading sessions and construction site visits to enhance understanding of project scope and technical requirements. Skills Proficiency with StackCT or Similiar takeoff software for digital markup and document management. Strong negotiation skills for engaging with vendors, subcontractors, and clients. Solid understanding of construction industry practices including construction drawing review and interpreting technical drawings. Knowledge of construction management software platforms for project tracking and documentation. Excellent command of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) for data analysis and communication. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings accurately to estimate material requirements from blueprints. Hands-on construction site experience that provides practical insight into project workflows. Strong skills in cost control, material cost estimating, pricing strategies, and managing construction project budgets. Effective client communication skills to support negotiations and clarify project details.
