Duties Engage with clients to understand their landscape vision, needs, and budget constraints, providing expert guidance throughout the sales process Review construction drawings, blueprints, and technical documents to accurately estimate material requirements and labor costs using estimating software such as HeavyBid or similar tools Prepare detailed proposals and bids that include scope of work, pricing, and project timelines, ensuring clarity and competitiveness Utilize Bluebeam and construction management software to review plans, annotate drawings, and manage project documentation efficiently Negotiate contracts and pricing with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to secure favorable terms while maintaining quality standards Manage multiple projects simultaneously by coordinating with the construction team, tracking costs via spreadsheets, and controlling budgets to maximize profitability Communicate regularly with clients to provide updates, address concerns, and ensure satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle Interpret technical drawings and blueprints accurately to estimate material quantities from blueprints and plan procurement accordingly Collaborate closely with project managers to ensure estimates align with project scope, schedule, and budget constraints Stay informed about industry trends, material costs including Xactimate estimates where applicable, and best practices in construction estimating for commercial landscapes Qualifications Proven experience in managing projects as a construction estimator within the landscaping or broader construction industry Strong skills in blueprint reading, interpreting technical drawings, and reviewing construction plans with attention to detail Proficiency in estimating software such as HeavyBid or equivalent; experience with Bluebeam is highly desirable Excellent negotiation skills combined with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with clients and vendors Knowledge of construction management software tools along with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel spreadsheets for cost control and budgeting) Hands-on construction site experience that provides insight into material requirements, scheduling, and on-the-ground challenges Familiarity with contracts management, project management principles, and cost estimation for commercial landscape projects Ability to read blueprints accurately to estimate materials from technical drawings; experience interpreting construction drawings is essential Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple estimates simultaneously while maintaining accuracy in cost management Embark on a rewarding career where your expertise fuels beautiful outdoor transformations!
