Job Description

Job Overview Project Manager / Estimator with an established Maryland construction company. This is a great opportunity for a construction professional who enjoys having ownership of projects while also maintaining some involvement in estimating and pre-construction. The company performs a diverse mix of commercial, industrial, and civil construction, providing the opportunity to work across a variety of project types rather than being limited to one market. The Project Manager / Estimator will be responsible for overseeing projects from preconstruction through completion. During slower project periods, this individual will also assist with light estimating and quantity takeoffs. Key Responsibilities Manage commercial, industrial, and civil construction projects from start to finish Develop and maintain project schedules and construction sequencing Monitor job costs, budgets, buyout, and overall project profitability Review plans, specifications, contracts, and project documentation Negotiate contract terms and develop accurate scopes of work Interpret owner contracts, terms, and conditions Manage subcontractor agreements and relationships Develop and maintain submittal logs and review submittals Prepare and manage Requests for Information (RFIs) Prepare, negotiate, and track change orders Participate in preconstruction, progress, and project meetings Coordinate with owners, subcontractors, vendors, municipalities, and internal teams Coordinate construction activities and ensure projects remain on schedule and within budget Utilize knowledge of local water and sewer municipalities Assist with quantity takeoffs and light estimating during slower periods Utilize technology and AI-powered tools to improve estimating and project management processes Visit active construction sites within approximately a 30-mile radius Qualifications 5+ years of construction management/project management experience or a 4-year degree in Project Management or related field Accredited trade-school training combined with relevant construction experience will also be considered Strong ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities Working knowledge of construction scheduling and sequencing Understanding of construction equipment and its applications Experience with job cost budgeting, buyout, and cost control Knowledge of construction contracts and subcontractor agreements Experience managing RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation Ability to work independently and effectively manage multiple priorities Must be comfortable traveling to local construction sites within approximately a 30-mile radius Candidates should be comfortable learning and adopting AI-powered construction and estimating tools . Preferred Qualifications Bilingual skills are a plus Experience with commercial and industrial construction Familiarity with Maryland-area water and sewer municipalities Strong estimating or preconstruction experience Compensation & Benefits Competitive salary commensurate with experience Company vehicle 401(k) eligibility after 6 months Performance bonuses Additional company benefits Why Consider This Opportunity? Pay:
$110,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
