Commission-based, expected earnings of $100,000+ per year Position Overview American Remodeling Corporation is seeking an experienced Insurance Estimator & Field Inspector to inspect residential properties, develop accurate scopes of work, prepare Xactimate estimates, and manage insurance-related projects through the estimating and approval process. This position combines field inspections with in-office estimating, documentation, and follow-up. The ideal candidate will have strong construction knowledge, hands-on Xactimate experience, and the ability to communicate professionally with homeowners and insurance representatives. Some assignments will come through managed repair programs, including Contractor Connection, making previous experience with these programs a plus. Key Responsibilities Conduct residential property inspections for insurance-related repair and restoration projects Inspect roofing, exterior, and interior areas to identify damage and required repairs Safely climb ladders and walk residential roofs Gather photographs, measurements, notes, and other documentation needed to establish the project scope Prepare accurate and timely estimates in Xactimate Review carrier estimates and prepare revisions or supplemental estimates when needed Communicate with insurance adjusters regarding scope, pricing, documentation, and estimate changes Complete required documentation and follow-up for assigned projects Maintain communication with homeowners throughout the estimating process Work from our Jessup office between appointments to complete estimates and project documentation Coordinate with internal sales and production teams as projects move forward Maintain organized and accurate project records Requirements Advanced hands-on proficiency with Xactimate Physical ability and willingness to climb ladders and walk residential roofs Previous experience in insurance restoration, property damage estimating, residential construction, or a related field Strong understanding of residential construction methods, materials, labor, and repair processes Ability to independently inspect a property and develop a complete scope of work Experience working with insurance carriers, adjusters, or claim-related projects Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills Ability to manage multiple active projects and meet turnaround expectations Valid driver's license and dependable transportation Preferred Experience Experience with Contractor Connection or similar managed repair programs Familiarity with multiple residential trades, including roofing, siding, gutters, windows, doors, drywall, painting, flooring, kitchens, bathrooms, and other general contractor repairs Residential remodeling or restoration sales experience Compensation This is a commission-based position with expected annual earnings of $100,000 or more. Actual earnings will depend on experience, performance, project volume, and completed work.
