Position Title:
Estimator The Estimator role presents an opportunity to engage directly with the owner and gain valuable insights into construction management, cost engineering, and project controls. This position is integral to the success of various projects, with the company having a strong track record of over 700 projects valued at more than $20 billion. The Estimator will work closely with senior estimators and project managers, contributing to budgeting and cost control efforts. Candidates should be adaptable and possess strong interpersonal skills, as they will interact with clients and team members regularly. The role offers a diverse range of responsibilities, making it ideal for individuals looking to develop their skills in a dynamic environment.
Salary Range:
$60,000 - $65,000 / year
DOE Estimator Responsibilities:
Analyze project costs, estimate expenses, and assist in budgeting construction projects Collect data, review blueprints, and collaborate with senior estimators to determine material, labor, and time requirements Provide accurate cost estimates to help businesses control expenses Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams to verify costs and clarify project requirements Regularly update estimate spreadsheets and documentation Participate in project meetings and presentations alongside senior cost estimators Utilize cost estimating software and project management skills Perform all other related duties
Estimator Requirements:
Some construction experience and knowledge of construction Basic estimation skills, even if rudimentary Strong people skills and customer service orientation Ability to be a jack of all trades and adapt to various tasks Up to 3 years of construction estimating experience on higher education, DOD, DOE, or other government/military projects is preferred Dynamic and personable, able to handle changes in day-to-day operations is preferred Experience with military or DOD construction is preferred Ability to support project management and supervisory work depending on demand is preferred
