full-time Your new company An established General Contractor specializing in retail construction, commercial renovations, rollouts, and ground-up projects is seeking an Estimator to join its experienced preconstruction team of 5. With nearly 40 years of industry experience, this contractor has built a strong reputation for delivering retail, distribution, and commercial projects across multiple states. The company combines the resources and stability of a well-established contractor with the culture and feel of a family-owned business, resulting in exceptional employee retention and long-term client relationships. Your new role You will work alongside an experienced estimating team and gain exposure to a wide variety of commercial and retail construction projects throughout the East Coast. Main responsibilities will include preparing detailed quantity take-offs and cost estimates. Review construction drawings, specifications, and bid documentation. Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing. Develop conceptual budgets and competitive bid proposals. Build and maintain strong subcontractor relationships. Identify scope gaps, project risks, and value engineering opportunities. Collaborate with operations and project management teams throughout the preconstruction process. What you'll need to succeed 5+ years of estimating experience with a General Contractor. Experience in retail, commercial, grocery, distribution, or interior construction projects preferred. Strong ability to perform take-offs and detailed cost analysis. Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and specifications. Experience obtaining and leveling subcontractor bids. Strong communication and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple estimates simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
