POSITION SUMMARY
The Project Pro is responsible for developing project-based business by targeting small contractors, remodelers, and homeowners for projects such as renovations, additions, sheds, and garages. This role ensures exceptional customer service through thorough follow-up and attention to detail, while working closely with operations to deliver a seamless and high-quality customer experience.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Safety First 24/7 Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.

Take personal responsibility for your own safety and the safety of others.

Actively participate in safety huddles and utilize the Safety Observation System (SOS).Promptly report unsafe conditions and behaviors.

Consistently use required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in designated areas. Provide timely and accurate estimates and quotes.

Place orders promptly and ensure thorough follow-up.

Offer project advice and resolve customer service issues quickly and effectively.

Work within company pricing guidelines to maximize sales, margin, and credit objectives.

Collaborate with vendors to ensure correct and timely placement of special orders.

Actively promote and sell all Hancock products and services.

Ensure quotes are accurate and materials provided meet customer specifications.

Partner with Operations to guarantee accurate, on-time orders and proper handling of credits.

Assist customers in improving job planning to reduce same-day deliveries.

Follow up on leads and pursue sales opportunities outside the showroom.

Regularly engage on job sites and in builder places of business to strengthen relationships and drive sales.

Maintain full adherence to all company policies at all times.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Valid drivers license. Strong mathematical skills for accurate measurements and calculations.

Proven sales aptitude, including the ability to cold call and build relationships.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.

High attention to detail to ensure accuracy in all tasks.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Strong multitasking and organizational abilities in a fast-paced environment.
DESIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED. Post secondary education preferred.

Experience in sales in the Lumber and Building Materials industry preferred.
REPETITIVE PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Lift 60# from floor to waist; lift 40# from waist to shoulder.

Carry 60# over a distance exceeding 12 feet.

Push 60# in a wheeled cart.

Bend, stoop, or squat to floor level repeatedly.

Stand for long periods of time.

Sit for long periods of time.

Reach overhead to grasp materials.
