Job Summary:

The Retail Estimator Salesperson will assist customers with purchasing merchandise by providing an accurate estimate of project materials in addition to guidance about products needed to fulfill their project needs.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Greets and interacts with customers.
• Consults with customers to understand their needs and preferences related to merchandise.
• Prepares material estimates based on the customer's project specifications.
• Demonstrates and explains merchandise, selecting and suggesting options suitable for the customer's needs.
• Answers customer's questions about merchandise.
• Assists customers with purchase decisions.
• Collects payment using the store point of sale system.
• Processes returns and exchanges.
• Develops and maintains relationships with potential and existing clients in the residential and commercial construction industry.
• Identifies and locates new clients through a variety of methods including networking and cold calls.
• Applies knowledge of the field and product features to match products to the needs of clients.
• Answers inquiries from clients concerning products, their uses, and the industry at large.
• Provides information, material estimates, credit terms, and other bid specifications to clients.
• Collaborates with purchasing departments, managers, and other staff to confirm that orders are processed with accuracy and efficiency and that products are distributed properly.
• Periodically prepares and reports results, status of accounts, and leads to manager.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Blue Print reading and takeoff.
• Previous construction project estimation sales experience.
• Product training provided.

Physical Requirements :

• Prolonged periods of standing and walking throughout the retail space.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
