Build Your Career in Electrical Construction Stinson Electric Inc. is a family-owned commercial and industrial electrical contractor serving the Twin Cities and surrounding areas. We are seeking an Electrical Service Estimator / Project Manager Associate to join our Service Department. This position will be responsible for estimating and managing small projects, special projects, and service-related electrical work from initial customer request through project completion. Our Service Department works with a diverse group of customers throughout the Twin Cities, including commercial and industrial manufacturers, distribution centers, car dealerships, churches and non-profits and other businesses. The right candidate will enjoy developing long-term customer relationships, solving problems, and managing a variety of projects rather than working on the same type of project every day. This position is ideal for someone with an electrical background through either education or field experience who is to eager to learn and grow in their career in the electrical field. What You'll Do Responsibilities may include: Perform site visits and meet with customers to gather information for estimates and proposals Read and interpret architectural, electrical, and construction documents Develop design-build concepts and solutions for customer projects Prepare estimates, proposals, budgets, and project scopes Apply the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable electrical requirements Solicit and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotes Coordinate projects with customers, electricians, suppliers, subcontractors, and other trades Track project costs, change orders, and project modifications Manage multiple small and special projects simultaneously Maintain communication with customers throughout the project Manage projects from estimate and proposal through scheduling, construction, and completion Build and maintain long-term relationships with existing and new customers Qualifications Required Electrical field experience OR degree, technical education, or relevant coursework in an electrical discipline Working knowledge of electrical systems and electrical construction Ability to read and interpret architectural and electrical plans, specifications, and construction documents Basic understanding of electrical theory and the National Electrical Code (NEC) Strong communication and customer service skills Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to work independently while collaborating with office and field personnel Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Bluebeam and/or Adobe Valid driver's license and ability to travel throughout the Twin Cities metro area Ability to pass a background check, pre-employment drug screen, and post-accident drug testing requirements Preferred Trade school certificate, associate degree, bachelor's degree, or coursework in: Electrical Construction Electrical Technology Electrical Design Electrical Engineering Electrical field experience Previous estimating or project management experience Experience with commercial or industrial electrical projects Experience with electrical service work, renovations, upgrades, or special projects Familiarity with Accubid or other electrical estimating software Who Will Be Successful in This Role This position is a good fit for someone who: Enjoys working directly with customers and developing long-term relationships Likes the variety and pace of smaller projects and service work Desires to continue learning through continuing education Can take a customer's problem or idea and help develop a practical electrical solution Is comfortable balancing estimating, project management, field coordination, and customer communication Takes ownership of projects and follows through from the initial request to final completion Is organized and able to prioritize multiple active projects Works well with electricians and understands the importance of supporting the field team Values Quality, Integrity, and Service in their work and customer relationships Schedule Monday-Friday Flexible hours between 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM Compensation & Benefits Compensation based on experience, education, and qualifications.
