Job Description
Estimator
- Metal Fabrication Prepares quotes in accordance with customer requests for quotes (RFQs) for manufacturing products and services.
Essential Functions:
Set up estimates in manufacturing software which includes material, labor, outside services and anything related to the cost of the project. Analyze, compare and interpret detailed and sometimes poorly defined information; make sound and accurate judgments based on previous knowledge and experience. Estimate labor time on each project for the following operations: Drafting, Laser, Press Brake, Punch Machine, HAAS CNC Machining, Weld, Metal finishing, Paint and Assembly, etc. Identification of and preparation for parts to be sent out for quote. Execute material quotation process, as needed, by gathering and analyzing cost data. Coordinate with manufacturing to obtain labor estimates, tests, fixtures, prototypes and other costs. Identify and work to resolve problems that develop when creating an estimate and recommend solutions for more efficient processes. Communicate accordingly with customers and vendors. Analyze bill of materials, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to complete quote packages Assist in repricing costs associated with change orders.Required Skills, Education and Experience:
Experience in estimating metal fabrication and understanding pricing structures. Excellent skill level at reading and understanding blueprints. Knowledge of welding, CNC machining and assembly practices, tools and fixturing (metal preferred). Excellent verbal, written communication and time management skills Strong interpersonal skills Self-motivated with high level of professionalism Associate degree in a related field or equivalent work experience 5-8+ years of estimating experience working in a metal fabrication environment. Strong understanding production drawings, bills of material, manufacturing processes and interactions that impact costs to build products. Proficient in products such as Excel, Word, Outlook, etcOrganizational Competencies:

Job Type:
Full-time Pay:
$75,000.00- $82,000.
