Range:
Salary. $75,000
  • $100,000 per year (based on experience and qualifications).
Bonus Program eligibility. (This pay range is a good-faith estimate of compensation for this role.)

Job Summary :
This position supports public estimates and develops the technical, organizational, and communication skills required for independent bid ownership. The role performs assigned takeoffs, document review, quotation coordination, estimate entry, and bid-file maintenance within the Paving / Milling or Reconstruction lane.

Job Duties & Requirements:
Reasonable accommodations can be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Complete assigned quantity takeoffs from plans and bid documents. Assist with plan, proposal, specification, and addenda review. Set up bid files, estimate structures, quote logs, and document folders. Solicit quotations from subcontractors, suppliers, trucking providers, and vendors. Track quotation responses and identify gaps in coverage. Assist with quote comparisons and scope leveling. Enter quantities, crews, materials, equipment, trucking, subcontractors, and other costs into the estimate. Research historical costs and production rates. Maintain records of assumptions, exclusions, open questions, and addenda changes. Support preparation of bid forms, proposals, review packages, and handoff materials. Learn applicable EEO, DBE, wage, agency, and other public requirements. Attend site visits, pre-bid meetings, bid reviews, handoffs, and post-job reviews as assigned. Complete smaller or lower-risk estimates with supervision as development milestones are achieved. Communicate regularly with the assigned Estimator 2 or Senior Estimator. Apply review feedback and correct takeoff, scope, documentation, and estimate gaps. Assist with timely workload inventory communication. Develop professional relationships with vendors, subcontractors, owners, and internal project teams. Represent BR positively in all internal and external interactions.
Preferred Education and Experience:
0 to 3 years of estimating, construction, project engineering, or related experience. Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or a related field preferred, or equivalent experience. Heavy civil, paving, grading, utility, sitework, or public-works exposure preferred. Comfort with mathematics, measurements, quantities, Microsoft Excel, and construction documents. Ability to learn B2W Estimate or similar estimating software. Ability to read plans and specifications with guidance. Strong organization, accuracy, communication, curiosity, and willingness to learn. Ability to manage deadlines and follow through on assigned work. Valid driver's license and ability to perform site visits. Work Environment Office-based with frequent travel to project sites, customer meetings, pre-bid walkthroughs, and industry events.
