Commercial Estimator Mid Central Door Company - Waite Park Starting wage: $26 per hour Mid-Central Door Company, a division of American Door Works, is a leading supplier of hollow metal doors and frames, commercial wood doors, and architectural hardware in greater Minnesota. Position Overview The Commercial Estimator is responsible for obtaining, entering, maintaining, and updating project information from architectural blueprints and specification documents into our estimating software (e/PWS) for bidding purposes. This role prepares cost estimates for new construction and remodeling projects, works closely with the Estimating Manager to gather quotes and finalize bid pricing, and submits completed proposals to requesting contractors. The Estimator will collaborate with the Estimating Assistant and report directly to the Estimating Manager. This is a full‑time, onsite position working Monday-Friday during daytime hours at our Waite Park office. Key Responsibilities

• Enter and maintain all project data in the estimating software (e/PWS), create project folders on the company server, and ensure all documents remain current.
• Analyze blueprints, specifications, and related documents to prepare time, cost, material, and labor estimates.
• Obtain material quotes and estimate open‑market and private bid requests for hollow metal, wood doors, hardware, and related materials.
• Consult with contractors, vendors, and internal departments to develop estimates, resolve issues, and answer questions regarding products, pricing, and durability.
• Collaborate with architects, owners, and contractors on changes or adjustments to cost estimates.
• Assist in maintaining company spreadsheets to keep the Estimating Team and management informed of project status and timelines.
• Occasionally participate in pre‑bid site walkthroughs.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager or General Manager.

Ideal Candidate Qualifications A two‑year degree in architectural drafting, construction management, or a related field is preferred but not required. A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in the construction industry, with an emphasis on estimating or project management, is preferred but not required. Strong documentation skills and exceptional attention to detail. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
