Job Description
gPAC, the leading recruitment company within the construction and engineering industries for over 30 years, has partnered with a highly respected general contracting company within the commercial construction sector to find an experienced Estimator . This presents an amazing opportunity for candidates seeking a new challenge to join a well-established team in a thriving industry.
Estimator responsibilities:
- Accurately estimate construction project costs, including materials, labor, and equipment
- Interpret blueprints, drawings, and other documents to prepare detailed cost estimates
- Use industry-specific software to efficiently calculate cost estimates
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, architects, and other team members to review and improve cost estimates
- Monitor project costs throughout the lifespan of the construction project to ensure compliance with budget and time constraints Estimator essential job functions:
- Analyze construction documents to understand and identify project requirements
- Attend pre-bid meetings
- Review subcontractor proposals and work with subcontractors to receive competitive pricing
- Prepare and review final proposal pricing Estimator skills and qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial construction estimating
- Proficient in industry software such as Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff, and PlanSwift
- Knowledgeable in construction methods and practices, including pricing, equipment, and labor costs
- Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills
