Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Estimator specializing in Structural and Miscellaneous Steel Fabrication. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in project cost analysis, bidding, and contract negotiations, ensuring accurate and competitive estimates for steel fabrication projects.

Duties:

Prepare detailed construction estimates for structural and miscellaneous steel fabrication projects using Tekla PowerFab estimating software. Analyze project drawings, specifications, and contracts to develop accurate pricing and cost control strategies. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to review project scope, clarify requirements, and negotiate terms to secure profitable bids. Conduct site visits to assess construction site conditions, logistics, and potential challenges impacting project costs. Develop comprehensive bid proposals that include material costs, labor estimates, equipment needs, and subcontractor quotes. Monitor project budgets throughout the bidding process to ensure estimates align with project goals and market conditions. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, material prices, labor rates, and construction regulations affecting steel fabrication estimates. Assist in contract review processes to ensure scope clarity and risk mitigation strategies are incorporated into bids.

Requirements:

Proven experience in construction estimating within the steel fabrication industry with at least (3) years' experience. Strong proficiency with Bluebeam, Tekla PowerFab, and construction management software tools. Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors. Solid understanding of construction site operations, project management principles, and contract administration. Knowledge of cost control techniques, pricing strategies, and project scheduling. Ability to interpret complex technical drawings and specifications related to steel structures. Construction site experience is highly desirable for accurate assessment of project scope and logistics. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail to produce precise estimates under tight deadlines. This role is integral to the success of our steel fabrication projects by ensuring competitive pricing while maintaining quality standards. Candidates should possess a strong background in construction estimating combined with excellent communication skills to thrive in this dynamic environment.
