ETHOS Contracting Group, LLC Job Description:
Estimator Position Ethos Contracting Group strives to bring exceptional solutions to the commercial construction industry. By definition, our 'ethos' is the deeply held belief that our client's success is our success. Ethos Contracting Group is a family-owned business in Starkville, MS, that provides quality General Contracting services. Ethos works with Sub-Contractors and Vendors to provide all material, labor, equipment, and services required for commercial construction projects. We are responsible for hiring and managing specialized subcontractors to perform the work at each job site and are looking to hire a Construction Estimator to prepare and estimate budget costs, prepare bids for new jobs, and assist on pricing changes throughout the project duration.Estimator Duties and Responsibilities:
Construction Estimators work closely with architects, engineers, sub-contractors, and vendors to:- Prepare and estimate budget costs for construction by studying plans and specifications taking into account the requirements for labor, materials, and equipment
- Estimate the amount of materials needed
- Evaluate offers to purchase by site requirements, additions, and costing changes
- Develop bids for construction projects
- Schedule meetings with clients, site managers, and staff
- Navigate and understand building codes
- Process paperwork and travel to building sites as required
- Monitor construction processes
- Stay up to date with safety codes and improvements in construction
- Collaborate with contractors to evaluate risks, estimate timelines, and ensure projects stay within budget constraints set by clients
Estimator Qualifications/Requirements:
- Minimum of 1 year experience in construction with estimating commercial construction projects. Special consideration will be given to applicants with 5+ years experience.
- Ability to read and understand building plans
- Knowledge and understanding of Planswift computer program
- Proficient in math skills
- Above average computer skills
- Critical thinking skills with ability to problem solve and make effective decisions
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously using good time management skills
- Above average written and verbal communication skills
- Cooperate with owners, clients, managers, subcontractors, and employees and maintain a positive working relationship

Job Type:
Full Time Work Hours/Benefits:
- 40-hour work week (may require additional hours when deadlines apply)
