Job Description
Jack A. Farrior, Inc. is a growing construction company that provides custom steel solutions located in eastern North Carolina specializing in expert design, fabrication, and installation. The basic function of this position is to prepare shop fabrication drawings on time and within estimate while meeting company and customer quality control standards. This person in this position is required to prepare accurate, legible drawings for shop fabricationfield erection. He/she will perform job site visits to determine existing layouts and record existing conditions in AutoCAD drawings for use as a base drawing for new work, produce general arrangement drawings necessary to show location of proposed work for the purposes of estimating construction costs, produce CNC files for shop fabrication of steel. This person would also run combining and nesting software for consolidation of materials for purchasing and manufacture, check drawings of other designers for accuracy and completeness, perform material take-offs for estimating shop fabrication projects. At the direction of the project engineer, manager, estimator, and other key personnel to provide drawings that produce equipment arrangement, concrete, structural steel, and other drawings necessary for steel fabrication and project construction. Local Travel and occasional travel may be required. Minimum 2 year degree in industrial computer technology or engineering technology or related field. Equivalent experience will be considered in lieu of educational requirement. Experience with AutoCAD, Advance Steel, and Strumis (preferred). Must be highly detailed-oriented, possess strong time management and mathematical skills, communicate effectively with others, and be able to work independently while managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. Must be able to represent with respect and integrity. All candidates must have a valid driver license and pass drug screening and criminal background checks. All newly hired employees are verified through E-Verify to determine their eligibility to work in the United States.
