Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Sheet Metal Job Shop Estimator to join our team! In this vital role, you will be responsible for accurately estimating costs and preparing bids for custom sheet metal fabrication projects. Your expertise will help ensure competitive pricing, efficient project planning, and successful client relationships. The ideal candidate is proactive, highly organized, and passionate about delivering precise estimates that drive success. Duties Review drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to interpret fabrication scope and material requirements. Utilize estimating software to develop detailed cost estimates for sheet metal fabrication parts. Prepare accurate pricing proposals by estimating material costs, labor hours, fabrication needs, and subcontractor services. Manage multiple estimates simultaneously while maintaining high accuracy and adherence to deadlines. Collaborate with clients, project managers, suppliers, and subcontractors through effective negotiation to secure favorable terms and pricing. Maintain organized records for all estimates, revisions, and client communications. Skills Proficiency in drawing and blueprint interpretation. Strong negotiation skills with the ability to secure competitive pricing from suppliers and subcontractors. Experience with estimating software. Solid understanding of managing projects as an estimator within the sheet metal fabrication sector. Expertise in reading fabrication blueprints, technical drawings, and interpreting specifications accurately. Knowledge of material cost estimating and outsourcing Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite for documentation and reporting purposes. Familiarity with Autocad and Solidworks to access drawings Ability to review fabrication drawings thoroughly, identify material requirements, and estimate associated costs precisely.
