$60000-90000 / year Job Description Position Summary one of the Triad's leading commercial general contractors, is seeking an experienced Estimator to prepare accurate, competitive cost estimates for commercial and institutional construction projects, primarily within the hard bid/public market. The Estimator plays a critical role in the preconstruction process by analyzing plans and specifications, performing quantity takeoffs, soliciting subcontractor pricing, and developing complete project estimates while meeting strict bid deadlines. Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Prepare detailed cost estimates for commercial construction projects.
- Bid multiple projects on a weekly basis while meeting strict deadlines.
- Perform digital quantity takeoffs from plans and specifications.
- Review drawings, specifications, and contract documents for scope completeness.
- Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations.
- Develop complete project estimates and bid proposals.
- Coordinate with project managers, superintendents, and owners during preconstruction.
- Identify value engineering opportunities and cost-saving alternatives.
- Maintain accurate estimating files and historical cost data.
- Participate in post-bid reviews and project handoffs. Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of commercial construction estimating experience preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Building Science, or related field preferred.
- Experience estimating hard bid/public projects.
- Valid driver's license. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Strong understanding of commercial construction methods and bidding procedures.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Experience with on-screen takeoff software.
- Experience with Earthworks or similar civil/dirt takeoff software.
- Working knowledge of Sage/Timberline estimating software preferred.
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office.
- Excellent organization, attention to detail, and time management.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Physical Requirements Ability to sit for extended periods, occasionally visit construction sites, and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Compensation 60k-90k Salary commensurate with experience. Pay is negotiable. Benefits
