Mechanical Estimator

We're seeking a detail-oriented Plumbing Estimator to prepare accurate, competitive bids for commercial and industrial projects. This role requires strong technical knowledge, field awareness, and the ability to balance winning work with maintaining profitability.

THIS POSITION TYPICALLY YIELDS 5-10 HOURS OF OVERTIME/WEEK!

! Key Responsibilities

• Review drawings, specs, and bid documents
• Perform quantity takeoffs (water, sanitary, storm, gas, and specialty systems)
• Develop cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors
• Solicit and evaluate vendor/subcontractor pricing
• Identify scope gaps, risks, and overlaps
• Prepare proposals, scope letters, and bid packages
• Collaborate with project managers and field teams
• Support bid strategy, value engineering, and cost tracking What We're Looking For
• Understands installation—not just takeoffs
• Identifies issues before they impact cost
• Balances competitiveness with profitability
• Communicates clearly and takes ownership Qualifications
• 3+ years estimating commercial/industrial plumbing projects
• Strong knowledge of plumbing systems and construction documents
• Experience with estimating software (e.g., QuoteSoft) and Excel
• Organized, deadline-driven, and detail-oriented Preferred
• Field experience in plumbing
• Experience with large-scale projects
• Familiarity with BIM/VDC and job costing

Pay:

$65,000.00
