Job Description Ascension Property Services (APS), based in Palo Alto, CA, seeks an Electrical Estimator to support technology-focused facilities and infrastructure projects. You will review plans and specifications, perform detailed quantity takeoffs, develop accurate labor and material cost estimates, and support bid and budget preparation for data centers, offices, and related IT environments. Partner closely with project managers, engineers, and vendors to validate pricing, assess risk, and optimize value. Responsibilities Review electrical drawings, specifications, and BIM models to understand project scope and requirements. Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for electrical systems, including power, lighting, low-voltage, and auxiliary systems. Develop accurate labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor cost estimates using industry-standard tools and databases. Prepare competitive bids, budgets, and change-order estimates in collaboration with project managers and engineers. Analyze vendor and subcontractor quotes, negotiate pricing where appropriate, and maintain current cost data. Identify value engineering options, cost risks, and constructability issues, providing recommendations to stakeholders. Support pre-construction planning, schedules, and cash-flow projections based on estimate data. Maintain organized estimate files, assumptions, and documentation to support handoff to project delivery teams. Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an innovative, inclusive environment focused on continuous improvement. Contribute to process enhancements, templates, and best practices for electrical estimating within APS.
