Heavy Civil Estimator

A well-recognized and growing heavy civil construction company in the Greater Charlotte, North Carolina area is seeking a Heavy Civil Estimator for an exciting opportunity with strong long-term growth potential. This is a great chance to join a high-retention, family-oriented team working on large-scale roadway, highway, utility, grading, airport, data center, industrial warehouse, and subdivision projects, where a tech-savvy estimator can play a key role in delivering competitive bids and supporting a strong pipeline of work. Qualifications and responsibilities for this Heavy Civil Estimator position include: 5+ years of estimating experience in heavy civil or site development construction; prepare accurate and competitive estimates for large-scale projects Experience with roadways, highways, utilities, grading, airport work, and civil site development; support bids for industrial, commercial, and residential developments Strong understanding of construction means and methods; evaluate project scope, risks, and cost drivers during preconstruction Proficiency with Bid2Win, Bluebeam, Excel, and MS Office; develop takeoffs, pricing, and bid documentation efficiently Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications; perform quantity takeoffs for earthwork, utilities, grading, and paving scopes Strong communication and collaboration skills; work closely with field teams, operations staff, subcontractors, and suppliers to validate assumptions and pricing Highly organized and detail-oriented; manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced bid environment that may occasionally require evenings or weekends Willingness to conduct site visits and attend pre-bid meetings; support estimating efforts with approximately 70% office time and 30% field exposure

Salary :

$70,000 - $150,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
