(919) 850-9600 Assistant Estimator Our Client is looking for an Assistant Estimator to support all phases of the preconstruction process for commercial renovation and fit-up projects. This individual will work closely with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to prepare accurate estimates, budgets, proposals, permit packages, and bid documents.
Responsibilities Include:
  • Assist with all aspects of preconstruction, including proposals, bids, budgeting, permitting, buyout, and preliminary scheduling
  • Review plans, drawings, specifications, and project documents to develop accurate cost estimates and proposals
  • Perform quantity takeoffs for various construction scopes and validate subcontractor takeoffs for accuracy
  • Solicit, obtain, and evaluate pricing from subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors to ensure complete and competitive bids
  • Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, and subcontractor walkthroughs to assess project conditions and requirements
  • Prepare permit applications and supporting documentation for project approvals
Job Requirements Requirements:
  • 0-3 years of estimation experience in the commercial construction setting
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project documents
  • Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills
Preferences:
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred
  • Proficiency in Procore and Microsoft Office Suite
