This role plays a key part in both pre-construction and project execution—responsible for preparing competitive bids, managing projects in the field, and ensuring work is completed safely, on time, and within budget. Key Responsibilities Review plans, specifications, and bid documents to prepare accurate cost estimates for paving, grading, and site work projects Perform quantity takeoffs for asphalt, earthwork, utilities, and related scopes Solicit and analyze subcontractor and supplier pricing Prepare and submit bids and proposals Manage awarded projects from start to completion Coordinate crews, equipment, subcontractors, and materials Develop and maintain project schedules and budgets Track job costs and ensure profitability Communicate effectively with clients, engineers, inspectors, and internal teams Conduct site visits to monitor progress, quality, and safety compliance Handle change orders, RFIs, and project documentation Qualifications 3+ years of experience in estimating and/or project management in paving, grading, or site development Strong knowledge of asphalt paving, earthwork, and site utilities Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications Experience with takeoff and estimating software (e.g., HCSS, Bluebeam, Agtek, or similar) Proficiency in Excel and project tracking tools Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously Valid driver's license Preferred Qualifications Experience working with DOT, commercial, or municipal projects Familiarity with local codes and regulations Field experience in site work or paving operations What We Offer Competitive salary based on experience Company vehicle or allowance (if applicable) Health benefits and paid time off Opportunities for advancement within a growing company Supportive, team-oriented work environment
