Job Description

The Landscape Maintenance Estimator is responsible for developing accurate, competitive, and profitable estimates for recurring landscape maintenance services. This role supports the growth and stability of the Maintenance Division by responding to inbound opportunities, evaluating properties, and producing clear scopes of work that align with operational capabilities and company standards. The Estimator works closely with the Design and Maintenance leadership to ensure work is properly scoped, priced, and positioned for long-term client retention and performance.
    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Conduct property walkthroughs to evaluate site conditions, take measurements, service requirements, and potential operational challenges
    • Prepare detailed estimates and proposals for landscape maintenance services, including commercial and residential properties
    • Develop clear, accurate scopes of work that reflect client expectations and company service standards
    • Price maintenance programs in accordance with company labor, equipment, material, and margin guidelines
    • Respond to inbound maintenance estimating requests in a timely and professional manner
    • Collaborate with Operations and Maintenance leadership to ensure estimates are operationally feasible and efficient
    • Adjust scopes and pricing based on site conditions, seasonal requirements, and client feedback
    • Support the transition of awarded contracts to Operations by providing complete documentation and notes
    • Maintain organized estimating records, templates, and pricing data
    • Assist with annual renewals, contract adjustments, and scope revisions as needed
    • Stay current on industry best practices, labor efficiencies, and maintenance methodologies
    EDUCATION & TRAINING
    • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Horticulture, Landscape Management, Construction Management, or a related field preferred
    • Relevant landscape maintenance experience may be considered in lieu of formal education
    • Ongoing training in estimating software, company systems, and maintenance best practices
    KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
    • Experience in landscape maintenance estimating, operations, or supervisory roles
    • Strong understanding of landscape maintenance services, labor productivity, and equipment utilization
    • Ability to evaluate properties and identify maintenance requirements and efficiencies
    • Experience developing recurring service scopes and pricing
    • Familiarity with estimating software, CRM systems, or job management platforms preferred
    • Knowledge of seasonal services, enhancement opportunities, and contract structures
    SKILLS & ABILITIES
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on accuracy and consistency
    • High attention to detail in pricing, scope development, and documentation
    • Ability to communicate clearly with internal teams and clients as needed
    • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple estimates simultaneously
    • Ability to work independently while remaining aligned with operational standards and company goals
    • Practical understanding of how estimates impact labor planning, scheduling, and profitability
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; estimating software experience strongly preferred
    • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to properties for site evaluations
    • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods
    • Ability to occasionally reach, twist, kneel, climb, and squat as needed
    • Capacity to work on a computer for prolonged periods
    • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 30 lbs.
