full-time Role Description A growing construction company focused on concrete, curbs, sidewalks, masonry, retaining walls, park improvements, and other public infrastructure projects is seeking a Project Manager / Estimator to join its team. The role will support a portfolio of projects primarily throughout New Jersey, with some projects in the NYC metropolitan area. This position is responsible for both preconstruction estimating and project execution, ensuring work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with contract requirements and quality standards. This is a hands-on role ideal for a motivated professional who is comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously and working closely with field teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and company leadership. Key Responsibilities Prepare accurate estimates, including quantity take-offs, scope reviews, and pricing analysis. Assist with proposal preparation and bid submissions. Review plans, specifications, and contracts to identify risks, assumptions, and scope gaps. Manage projects from preconstruction through closeout, including planning, scheduling, and coordination. Oversee labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors to ensure timely execution. Negotiate and manage contracts, work orders, and change orders. Track project costs, schedules, and performance; identify and resolve variances. Review and approve subcontractor and vendor invoices and support preparation of owner billings. Coordinate permit requirements, inspections, utility mark-outs, and project closeout documentation. Manage project documentation including RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, and daily reports. Act as the primary liaison between clients, subcontractors, suppliers, field personnel, engineers, consultants, and company leadership. Coordinate project communications, manage expectations, and resolve project-related issues. Enforce compliance with company safety policies, OSHA standards, and quality requirements. Conduct regular jobsite visits and inspections. Qualifications 5+ years of experience as a Project Manager, Assistant Project Manager, Estimator, or similar role within the construction industry. Experience managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, blueprint reading, and specifications. Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction/project management or estimating software. Ability to travel to jobsites and work in varying field conditions. Valid driver's license and insurable driving record. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Business, or related field. OSHA 10-Hour or 30-Hour Construction Safety Certification preferred. Candidates not currently certified must be willing to obtain OSHA certification within 90 days of hire, with company-sponsored training available. Experience in concrete, curb, sidewalk, masonry, retaining wall, site work, parks, streetscape, municipal, or infrastructure-related construction.
