In office start! A growing construction team in NJ is seeking an experienced Commercial Electrical Estimator (5-10 years) to join their on‑site operations. This is a full‑time, in‑office role supporting a wide range of Commercial, Freezer, Manufacturing, and Industrial projects from $100K to $10M . Responsibilities Produce accurate estimates, sketches, proposals, and budgets within required timelines. Review bid documents, drawings, specifications, scopes, and contracts for full understanding of project requirements. Identify planning, scheduling, and budgeting needs; support the field team for successful project kickoff and execution. Create, manage, and track Change Orders and RFI's throughout the project duration. Source and qualify subcontractors and vendors; obtain pricing for specialty systems, materials, and equipment. Understanding of American Institute of Architects (AIA) and Schedule of Values (SOV) billing systems and tools. Maintain ongoing communication with clients and assist in project award or negotiation processes. Monitor cost trends, forecasts, and compare bid results to final estimates. Ensure all estimates comply with electrical codes, township requirements, plans, and specifications. Maintain an organized bid schedule and respond to new pricing requests. Conduct digital blueprint takeoffs (Takeoff software) and convert estimates into complete client proposals. Work directly with clients to close awarded projects. Maintain consistent, reliable on‑site attendance. Qualifications 5+ years of experience in electrical construction estimating. Strong background in Commercial, Freezer, Manufacturing, and Industrial fit‑outs and ground‑up builds. Solid understanding of electrical estimating , electrical code requirements, and plan reading. VERY Proficient with Takeoff software and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook). Experience with ConEst and BlueBeam preferred. Strong arithmetic, critical thinking, and problem‑solving skills. Excellent professional communication skills — written and verbal. Bachelor's degree preferred but not required. Experience in both hard‑bid and conceptual estimating environments.
