Commercial Roofing Estimator Tecta America Corp. United States, Jersey, Somerville 58 Tannery Road (Show on map) Sep 14, 2026 Description Since 1973, Pieros Construction Co., a Tecta America Company, has been a trusted partner for commercial and industrial roof repairs and replacements. This is an exciting opportunity to join both the nation's largest roofing contractor and one of the most respected local commercial roofing companies in the industry. We are seeking a Commercial Roofing Estimator for our Somerville, NJ location. The Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates and proposals for commercial roofing projects. This role supports all aspects of project management, sales, and day-to-day operations that impact the profitability and reputation of the department and company. The position involves both long-term planning and short-term scheduling, as well as coordination and support throughout the lifecycle of each project. The Estimator will provide comprehensive support to sales and project teams by effectively communicating and responding to customer needs. This individual will serve as a key resource by providing information, answering questions, and assisting customers and local contacts with concerns and project-related inquiries. Job Functions Plan, organize, and establish objectives and goals for assigned duties.

Estimate project costs and prepare proposals for review.

Create and request shop drawings and prepare submittal letters.

Obtain product data sheets, samples, and related documentation.

Understand all phases of a project, from acquisition through completion.

Review and approve invoices, material slips, purchase orders, contracts, and proposals to ensure accuracy.

Perform all estimating duties, including bids, pricing, and change orders.

Maintain and manage the bid calendar.

Visit job sites and attend pre-bid meetings.

Measure buildings, verify plan dimensions, and perform test cuts when necessary.

Take and organize site photographs, including aerial imagery.

Secure pricing from suppliers and vendors.

Maintain bid results and estimating statistics.

Review notices to proceed and contracts for scope and pricing accuracy.

Set up projects, including: Project Information Sheets, Budgets Pricing Sheets, Schedules of Values, Job Hand-Off Forms.

Track labor and material costs throughout project execution. Knowledge, Skills & Experience High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred but not required.

Previous estimating, roofing, construction, or sales experience.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to effectively manage customer concerns.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other spreadsheet applications with strong analytical abilities.

Strong documentation and organizational skills.

Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills.

Ability to read, understand, and interpret instructions, correspondence, contracts, and policy documents.

Ability to adapt to and become proficient with estimating software, including The EDGE.
